Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, day 7, 030425

Today was a chill out day, nothing planned, just to go with the flow.

We had breakfast at La Plume, which serves breakfast a la carte, rather than the buffet we have been going to at Kanoo and Tesoro. I had a lovely freshly cooked vegetable omelette with hash browns. It was a perfect start to the day.

Dominique had reserved our usual spot on the beach with a lovely selection of cold drinks in our cooler. He knows us well enough to know that we drink Sands Light Beer, made by the Bahamian Brewery, and bottled water.

One of the bar staff brought us the cocktail of the day, called Running Man. Described as a “Splash of Tasty”, it was a mix of white rum, vodka, cherry brandy, pineapple juice and a sweet and sour mix. We have been getting notifications every morning about the daily cocktail as well as other things that are happening during the day.

It went down very well whilst we sunbathed in the sunshine. It was quite windy today, so the sand whipped up every so often. It was also choppy on the water so the seaweed was getting washed up onto the beach again.

A couple of boats were getting thrown about on the water….was it maybe because they were disguised as sports cars??

I had a lunch of chilli nachos at Calico Cafe before heading back to the beach until about 3pm, when it was time to hit the gym. It’s always quiet at that time, or seems to be, so no queuing for the equipment. I ran 2.5 km on the running machine and then did 10 km on the bike. Hopefully I burned off a few calories although it would be far less than what I am consuming at the moment….

We went back to the room for a quick change then a cool down in the pool, with another cocktail at the pool bar.

We then went to get showered and ready for the evening meal, which was booked at “Queen’s Pearl”, with a British pub themed menu. I went for the mozzarella sticks and chilli dip combo to start with, which was very much like a Wetherspoons snack. Pub theme box ticked. For the main I’d opted for butter chicken which was too hot for my liking. I expected it to be a milder buttery creamy curry like the British variation. The chicken was nice but I had to leave some.

We were sitting outside at the restaurant so it gave me an opportunity to photograph the sunset. It’s not the most spectacular I have seen due to there being buildings on the horizon, but nice all the same.

I came back a few minutes later for a chocolate brownie and ice cream. We then headed back for a chill out in the room.
