I woke early doors…not surprising really as my body clock was still in UK time. It was 5:00am, which is four hours behind UK, but couldn’t get back to sleep.
In the end I made a cuppa and went back to bed. Eventually I made the decision to get up and go for breakfast. We went to a place called Kanoo, which did buffet style breakfast. We sat on the outdoor terrace which was lovely.
We then went back to our room to lather ourselves up with sun cream before heading down to the private beach. The temperature was mid 20s when we found our allocated sun beds, which had drinks cooler number 10 waiting for us. It was stocked with water, light beers and carbonated soft drinks.
We lazed about for a couple of hours, enjoying the scenery and the fact we were doing nothing. I went in the sea for a swim, a beautiful aquamarine colour which kept me cool. Dominique, our other hospitality person, came to introduce himself and answered some of our questions.
Lunch was ok, we went to one of the food trucks for fish tacos. They were a bit cold so didn’t eat them and went to Tesoro for pizza instead. The Caribbean Magic pizza was great but the jerk chicken was a bit too spicy for me. Still, it was nice and filled a hole.
After lunch we went back to our sun beds for a while and watched the world go by. There was a guy on a bobcat digger moving seaweed from the shoreline to the pier where the wedding chapel was. We also saw chairs being placed on the beach where wedding preparations were taking place. It was lovely and tranquil and a beautiful setting for a wedding.

I was feeling the effects of travelling from the day before, so we headed back to our room for a siesta. When I woke I got a burst of energy so we headed to the gym, where I went on the running machine for half an hour. The gym is six floors up and we had a great view of the Caribbean Sea and also the wedding taking place beneath us.
I felt great after my workout but didn’t have a lot of time before our evening meal. I had a quick shower before getting ready to go to the Italian restaurant, Tesoro, which had been pre-booked.
Logesh found us there, he says he’d been delayed by a phone call and therefore hadn’t been able to escort us to the restaurant. It didn’t matter really as we could find our way around the resort easily now. We both opted for red snapper, a locally caught meaty fish that was accompanied by green and yellow courgette, baked potato and a spicy salsa.
After we’d eaten we went to Coconut Grove, an outdoor entertainment area where some of the staff were setting up for the evening. There was a bar there that offered cocktails so we had a couple whilst watching a Mr and Mrs style quiz show where some rather drunk Americans were taking part.
We wanted to check out the piano bar next so we headed there. Apparently it was a place that affluent people used to visit in the 1940s. King Edward VIII started his new life in the Bahamas with Wallis Simpson after abdicating. His home was on the site of where the bar stands today. The Beatles also stayed in a nearby house when they were filming “Help” and when George Harrison celebrated his 22nd birthday, it took place in the Balmoral Club, which is in the same building as the Piano Bar.
Unfortunately/fortunately for us there was a lady behind the bar who made great cocktails and was a very bad influence. I lost count of how many cocktails we actually had and felt very fuzzy when we headed back to our room.
